Sunday ride

Squeezed in a 1hr+ ride around the easy trails on the north bank of the Schuylkill in Valley Forge.  The trails are muddy and, especially close to the parking lot getting widened with careless use.  There's much more traffic on these trails than in the past which is a net good.  It is time to figure out how to manage them just a little bit before they become practically useless.  This first picture shows a section of the first and oldest trail where riders have constructed obstacles from a fallen and sectioned tree.

The second trail section lies behind the large berm inland of the Schuylkill.  This is one of my favorite sections.  It holds a large meadow (the first picture where the meadow is underwater) and ponds.  The ponds will fill with turtles as the temperature continues to rise.  The greenery in the forest is pretty intense this time of year.

The third section is usually the quietest and often I won't see anyone at all.  This afternoon I was met by two labradors of boundless energy...there is only one type...!
