Ride, America - Marsh Creek State Park
Where
Back in my old American trail stomping ground after a hellishly long absence. I was late getting started so the ride was a little rushed and consisted of the simple perimeter loop of the SW trail system. The trails here are very different from what I experience in Scotland. Here the trails are ridden for their own sake and there is a logic to the loops and connectors. In Scotland, many of the trails (single-track, at least) are used either as links between steep downhill sections or steep descents in their own right. I’m always struck by how the single track trails in Scotland seem rarely ridden for long-distance enjoyment and taking in the sights. Gravel seems to fulfill that objective in Scotland.
The sunset on Tuesday was magnificent and not nearly represented by the photos I was able to take with my iPhone.
For some reason, the GPS stopped recording for a couple of miles.
