Ride, Scotland - Dulnain

Where

Had a fabulous ride around the Dulnain section of the Ancient Pinelands of Scotland. This is the seventh section I’ve ridden and the third of the Strathspey group.

This section lies just west of Carrbridge on both sides of the River Dulnain. I parked in Carrbridge then headed west along a narrow tarred road and then north up a gravel trail towards Sluggan Bridge. Once over the bridge the trail heads north west. I turned south towards Inverlaidnan and then over the wooden bridge that goes over the River Dulnain again. Once back on the road I rode west past Dalnahaitnach to take a look at the river. After that I headed southwest up the hill into Kinveachy Forest and up towards a stand of old trees.

It was cold and windy today but great to be out amongst these magnificent old trees.

Gear and Nutrition

Chilly today so long pants and a double layer up top.

Nutrition consisted of a Ucann starch drink after a big breakfast and before the ride. During the ride I drank lots of water and electrolytes. Post-ride I scarfed a couple of protein bars.
