Ride - Scotland, Banchory
Where
This was one of those post-work out-and-back jobs designed to relieve the daily cortisol accumulation. I rode along the gravel trail next to the River Dee at the foot of the Blackhall Forest.
This trail is all gravel and is reasonably dry right now and not icy despite the clear skies at night.

Gear and Nutrition
I’m riding with two 1,000 lumen LEDs. One is placed near the middle of the handle-bar to illuminate 10-15 feet ahead and the other is helmet-mounted and intended for longer-distance and variable side=to-side vision. I’ve been using this combination to good effect for a few years now. I have a rear red light that flashes on and off when I’m on the public roads.
I stay warm with good gloves, long trousers, three upper layers including a goretex outer shell and water-proof socks over a pair of regular socks. That combination is keeping me warm. I haven’t needed poagies or boots this year yet.
