Gardening
The rain has finally eased off allowing me to get into the garden and get some work done. The grass is finally cut and edged, leaves have been blown off the patio and weeds have been sent to that great weed graveyard at the bottom of the hill. The place feels quite calm with no rain, no wind but lots of cloud cover, mid 70s temp and moderate humidity. The conditions seem just right for the Millbank amphibians and sure enough they are hopping all over the place…frogs and toads. The magnificent creature below allowed by to get my camera within inches without him moving.
There were no other animals of note to be sen. The hummingbird has stopped coming to the feeder and I heard geese overhead for the first time this year. The times are a changin,.
One of the small trees by the patio has small flowers with it’s wandering stamens (I think) starting to pop out.
Unfortunately, I was not destined to experience full productivity and the sense of satisfaction I get from that. I started to shred the branches I pruned before the rains set in and the shredded lasted about a minute before it showed signs of water in the carburetor and stopped. I removed the carb and sure enough the air filter and carburetor bowl were damp and held water. I’m not taking it back to be fixed again so ordered a cleaning solution and parts online to do the job myself this time.
