Weeding and watering

The duckweed that was blanketing the pond does not like to be disturbed by the splashing fountain and hasn't re-colonized the surface area we cleared.  Meanwhile, a large frog has taken up residence alongside the tine toads that are emerging.

We're approaching peak growing season and that means peak weeding season.  I spent a good portion of the morning pulling up things that look as if they should not be there and piling them up ready to be shredded and composted.  The sunny warm weather has also returned after a couple of dull, cooler days.
