Sunday ride
An hour+ around the single-track trails at Marsh Creek to keep the blood flowing. The trails are worn badly especially close in to the car park.. Mostly they are dry today and very rideable. I met one other bike on the sw section. Most of the bikes seemed to head into the nw section for some reason...lots of families with kids because it was relatively late in the day.
This area of the trails has a mixture of short, open meadow, rooted surface (actually not bad in the picture below) and dense woodland. There are also a couple of rocky sections. It's all relatively easy stuff...no steep sections and no tough technical sections.
The lakeside is packed today as it typically is on such a nice day. It was probably doubly busy because of families celebrating Father's Day. In the LHS picture below you get a glimpse of the busy lake-side parking and picnic area and one of many kayaking fishermen coming back into shore. The second picture shows a fairly typical family scene close to the parking lot. For the avoidance of doubt, these people are not you Mainline characters. They are mid-state PA families out enjoying the lake - fishing, kayaking, sail-boarding, sailing, picnicing and riding...bikes and horses
