Leaf shredding

I'm late getting to this but can't put it off any longer.  The leaves that were blown and piled on the paths in the fall and winter need to be shredded and collected ready for mulching the beds.  The leaves are mostly very wet because they've been lying out in the cold damp winter and spring.  They shred easily in that state.  The "new" shredder continues to perform well and the tarp collector makes collection easy.

The cuttings add a blob of additional color.  That lot needs to be shredded and mulched too.  Not as easy as the leaves.  Cutting back the shrubs allows the sun into the garden surface and the under-storey plants to survive.  The color of the shrubs' new growth will also be closer to the eye as we walk along the path.

The flowers continue to appear and make the hard work worthwhile..
