Lunchtime stroll
After yesterday's long session with the Yew hedge in the heat and humidity, I was glad to be cooped up indoors for work. At least that was the case until about lunch time when I needed to get back out into the fresh air. The peonies are in pretty good shape this year. I don't know if it's the long cool spring weather or the fact that the plants are more established, but they look good...and they can withstand the mid-day sun.
Meanwhile, further down in the shade, the grass looks luxuriant and the Stuartia catches a little direct sun to pop out against the dark background. In the woods the bird house is full of twigs but there's no sign of nesting birds.
